I came across TheAdvisory (Gavin Brazg) website by accident and am I glad I did!! They offer free, independent advice on all aspects of home selling. In my case I was looking to sell my home for cash more quickly and with more certainty than the traditional estate agent open market route which meant that I was looking at the fast cash house buyers industry. Until I read TheAdvisory's eye-opening guide "Find the best fast cash house buyers" I hadn't realised quite what a minefield the 'Quick Sale' industry actually is and that it is not regulated by any government body. TheAdvisory’s guide spells it all out in no uncertain terms!I requested TheAdvisory's free recommendations for reputable fast cash home buyers (there are a few) and they recommended two companies which had both passed TheAdvisory's 15 point vetting process (ie ‘ADVISORY APPROVED'). I approached both companies and received an offer from them both. I took the next steps with both companies until it reached the point where I had to choose one or other. I chose one of them and the whole sale process went like clockwork.Having read online some of the horrors others have suffered at the hands of disreputable, untrustworthy or fake 'Quick Sale' companies, I can't thank TheAdvisory enough for their invaluable advice. I wholeheartedly recommend their website as the start point for anyone thinking of selling their home, whether by the traditional route or the 'Quick Sale' route.

After recently having a really negative house buying experience, due to a company “rogue buying” my home, based on the back of someone who said they were an “independent buyer”, they’ve pulled out on the day of the move, leaving it last minute to complete and exchange, plunging us into a financial spiral of disaster. So I’m now having to go through the nightmare of finding a way out of this mess ASAP, by using a company that buys your home quickly and for cash, which is a can of worms I never thought I’d have to open, but here we are. When using Google to source myself a “reliable company” and using their review system, I’ve read some pretty terrifying stories, then I came across “The Advisory” who offer you company recommendations based on how they’ve treated their clients, reviews, history etc. The Advisory also emailed me a check list of “Do’s & Don’ts” when sourcing these companies, and a huge list of how they scam you etc. Thank goodness for The Advisory, even though I’m still taking a huge risk, at least I’m going in with my eyes a lot wider open than they were a few hours ago. Thank you so much for your help and guidance, hopefully you’ve saved me from another huge disaster, because I’m already giving up the will to live, and this would really tip me over the edge.

My husband and I need to sell our property due to poor health, we had a meeting with an online Estate Agent, the chap that came had family living in our area he appeared to be knowledgeable. Unfortunately, we were taken in by his "honest" approach, we were under contract with another agent and this did not bother him. From the very start, we had issues with quality of photos, consistent incorrect advert details and then found it impossible to get anyone to speak to us. We have been through the TPO and have found that this agent is in breach of no less than 17 points. We are now going through the complaint procedure and we expect that we will have to escalate that. The moral of this story, do not trust everything you are told, they are out to get commission at any cost. On line agents do not work in your best interests. I came across Gavin's name and contacted him, Gavin replied straight away and gave us a lot of pointers, including links to look at. We are very grateful that Gavin was honest and easy to converse with and maybe, just maybe, we will be able to get ourselves out of this awful mess in time for Christmas. Thank you Gavin.

Dear GavinThank you so much for expressing your sympathy and for your advice which I've just read through and taken note of.I spoke to your recommended company earlier today after trying to sell my home through an NAPB member that turned out to be scammers. Your recommended company were in contrast very upfront and honest.I thought I'd done my research as best I could and decided to use this other company back in May. I was shocked to see my home advertised on Zoopla when I was assured that they buy houses. I am still waiting for one of their 'investors' to buy the bungalow, even though I asked specifically if they actually have the funds to buy property and was assured that they do. I should have asked for proof of this, but didn't.I only found your site tonight and wish I'd found it before because I tried to find as much information as possible about which companies to avoid.Thank you so very much for helping me avoid worse trouble, because I contacted two more house buyers before finding your page. Needless to say, I will not be speaking to them when they contact me. I cannot believe people can be so callous when they have no idea about an individual's situation.Once again, thanks and please carry on what you're doing. Good afternoon Gavin,I have been meaning to write to you for a while now to give you some feedback on your website 'The Advisory'.Like many people who have come to the decision that they want to sell their home I found myself torn between the D.I.Y approach (e.g. Purple Bricks or similar) and the more traditional route (using an Estate Agent). I invited Purple Bricks over and their representative was professional and seemed fairly knowledgeable. However, I did feel that he'd undervalued our home and I suspected that he could sense an opportunity to sell our house without too much effort on his part or regard for achieving the maximum price for us his potential clients.It was at this stage that I stumbled across 'The Advisory' website as I was trying to figure out if a traditional agent may offer value for money even though there is clearly a huge difference in fees when compared with online agents. After spending a lot of time carefully reading about the benefits of using a traditional Estate Agent (providing they are of course a good one) I decided that I could potentially end up with money in the long run as long as I a) didn't give too much away in fees and b) chose an agent who would work hardest to get the best price. I also wanted a fairly quick sale as the last time I sold a house it dragged on for ages and became very frustrating.I then went ahead and chose an Estate Agent based on your advice about which agent/s would be most suited to selling our home. I also used the 'Standard Fee Negotiated' approach as described on your website to ensure that they were properly motivated. The end result was 14 viewings in 10 days. We ended up accepting an offer of £10k over asking price from a cash buyer.All in all, a great resultKind regardsJon.

The first thing that impressed me was that despite emailing late on a Saturday night as one does when in the middle of a complex property transaction which seems to be going awry, by the time I was up on Sunday I had an email from Gavin and over the next couple of days he steered me out of a Potential nightmare and into the reach of some sensible people who should be able to help.
